“The panic is amusing, but the real fun comes when the spell passes and the villagers start looking for a scapegoat.” - Ludevic, necro-alchemist – Hysterical Blindness, Innistrad I love MTGA. After all, it lets me play Magic the Gathering whenever I want! Recently, however, I have seen a lot of negativity towards MTG:Arena and how WOTC are dealing with it in general. I put most of it down to just people moaning for the sake of moaning, but I just wanted to give my thoughts as a casual player. I think MTGA is great. Like I said, just the presence...

"No worthwhile reward is easily gained" - Nicol Bolas - Font of Agonies, Ravnica Allegiance What's the deal with themed boosters? Themed boosters are booster packs with 35 cards inside, 1-2 of which are rare or mythics. The big difference between these and normal boosters are they are guild specific (at least in these latest Ravnica sets). I thought these seemed like a great idea! Finally, I can get some big demons and burn spells without any of those boring white soldiers! However, I’ve heard some lacklustre things about these booster packs recently so I thought I’d grab myself a Rakdos...

Simic initiates begin their training as experimental subjects. Failures are flushed to the undersewers. - Simic Initiate, Dissension Woo! I love buying new MTG products! This time I've picked up a Simic Guild Kit, and I am very excited to dig into it and see what you get! Guild Kits are about £18 and contain a 60 card deck, a deck box, a guild themed spindown life counter a guild pin badge, guild sticker and a cardboard guild themed insert. Each of the Ravnican Guilds has a guild kit, the first half being released with Guilds of Ravnica, and the second half with Ravnica...

I stayed up last night to watch the announcement WOTC have been teasing for a few weeks: a product that is sure to excite players of the Modern format. And what an announcement! In case you missed it, Wizards of the Coast announced a new booster product called Modern Horizons. It takes the place of the "innovation" slot, previously occupied by sets like Conspiracy and Battlebond.  Modern Horizons is a brand new booster product for Modern, with the exciting twist that it's a "straight-to-modern" set, completely bypassing Standard! It includes 254 cards brand new to Modern, including some reprints formerly not legal in...

"It's actually quite simple, but since you've only recently begun to walk upright, it may take some time to explain." —Jace Beleren, to Garruk Wildspeaker" - Redirect, M13  I love Magic the Gathering. I love the feeling of cracking a few boosters just to see what’s inside. I love going through my collection and building whatever jank madness I can. I love slowly buying singles to power up my golgari elf tribal deck. I love building budget commander decks with massive dragons, even though my playgroup is me and a mate, who live hours apart. I spend hours a week building...
